I've been down with the Flu for a day and a half now. My oldest son went to the doctor yesterday and they said it was Swine Flu that he had....Within about 5 hours I had started to show symptoms as well. Let's just hope Bart and the other two boys don't get it...
Anyways, that's not the purpose of this post. I wanted to share two AWESOME songs I have gotten my hands on in the past few days that I just can't stop listening to...
The first song is by a great band called Muse.
The next song is by a band called White Lies.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!
In other Happy Music news The Bravery is coming to Houston in October and I am THRILLED. I would put The Bravery in my top 5 favorite bands of all time so I'm hoping that Bart and I can go...
So today when I was on the Dreadmill(treadmill) I had the iPod on one of my favorite running playlists full of upbeat, energetic songs and had a few come up that I couldn't resist sharing.
There's this band I've been listening to for the past month or so that I cannot get enough of.
They're called The Flobots. They're a political Rock/Rap type band from Denver Colorado.
Their first track Handlebars was released some time ago and it's how I first heard of them.
Listening to that song one time on the radio was all it took to get me hooked.
So I bought their album on iTunes and have been listening every day ever since. ( I do my weight lifting to it.)
It's an AWESOME album.
So last week I found out they are playing here in Houston at Meridian. Bart and I are going and I'm going to try to take my DSLR in with me and take some pics.
Here are some other tracks you might enjoy:
This lady got the thickness,
can I get a witness?
This lovely lady got the thickness,
can I get a "Hell Yeah"?
Grab them saddle bags and,
toss 'em over me, let ride all night.
This lady got the thickness,
can I get a witness?
This lovely leggy kind of thickness,
can I get a "Hell Yeah"?
Booty-Betty, thick-a-licious,
shake it like she's fearless.
This lovely lady got the thickness,
can I get a "Hell Yeah"?
This lady got a thickness,
can I get a witness?
This lovely lady got a thickness,
(can I) get a "Hell Yeah"?
Grab them saddle bags and,
toss 'em over me and,
this betty booty got a thickness,
can I get a "Hell Yeah"?
No one asks about the crime
No one looks behind the curtain
No one questions why
The only time we've got
Is right about now
I cross my heart
I take the vow
I'll never turn
I'll never bend
I'm with you now
Until the end
Tonight's the test
Tonight's the time
I am the punishment
That fits the crime
I'll break the bricks
I'll pick the locks
I don't got nothin'
But I'll give what I got
I'll never turn
I'll never bend
I'm with you now
Until the end
Ten trials whose outcomes
All fixed from the start
Nine judges sitting counting
Their money in the dark
Eight towers of iron
Surround the desert town
On a cold December morning
Seven martyrs knocked them down
Six fathers still waiting
For their six sons to come home
Five mothers who know better
And accept that they're gone
Four years I've been hunted
Still I breathe free
Three times I shot the sheriff
And did not spare the deputy
Two prayers I'm praying
Until we're together
One promise I'm keeping
Tonight and forever
I'll never turn
I'll never bend
I'm with you now
Until the end
A GREAT song for today....simply beautiful...
When you come to me
I'm the pretender
And not what I'm supposed to be
But who could know if I'm a traitor
Time's the revelator
They caught the katy
And left me a mule to ride
The fortune lady
Came along, she walked beside
But every word seemed to date her
Time's the revelator
The revelator
Up in the morning
Up and on the ride
I drive into Corning
And all the spindles whine
And every day is getting straighter
Time's the revelator
The revelator
Leaving the valley
fucking out of sight
I'll go back to Cali
Where I can sleep out every night
And watch the waves and move the fader
Time's the revelator
The revelator
Queen of the fakes and imitators
Time's the revelator
In them hollarin' pines
And he made a little whiskey for himself
Said it helped to pass the time
Long one evening in back of my house,
Caleb came around
And he called my name 'til I came out
with no one else around
Caleb Meyer, your ghost is gonna
wear them rattlin' chains.
but when I go to sleep at night,
Don't you call my name
Where's your husband, Nellie Kane
Where's your darlin gone?
Did he go down off the mountain side
and leave you all alone?
Yes, my husband's gone to Bowlin' Green
to do some business there.
Then Caleb threw that bottle down
and grabbed me by my hair.
Caleb Meyer, your ghost is gonna
wear them rattlin' chains.
but when I go to sleep at night,
Don't you call my name
He threw me in the needle bed,
across my dress he lay
he held my hands above my head
and I commenced to pray.
I cried My God, I am your child
send your angels down
Then feelin' with my fingertips,
the bottle neck I found
I drew that glass across his neck
as fine as any blade,
and I felt his blood pour fast and hot
around me where I laid.
Caleb Meyer, your ghost is gonna
wear them rattlin' chains.
But when I go to sleep at night,
Don't you call my name
Caleb Meyer, your ghost is gonna
wear them rattlin' chains.
But when I go to sleep at night,
Don't you call my name
This is the music that's got me going today...
I'm just hanging around the house (which at this point is so clean it may be mistaken for The Hilton..I almost put mints on the kids pillows..LOL)
CPS may be coming for their home visit today..may not..who knows...It's certainly better to be prepared...
Audio: Share a song you could listen to all day on repeat.
